Mission, Vision, and Values

Mission:  Deliver rigorous quality control and assurance systems for the American public through the application of consensus standards and enforcement regulations for structural lumber, international wood packaging, and treated wood products.

Vision Statement:  To ensure trusted wood products for the American public.

  • Accuracy: We always strive for accuracy in our observations and reporting.
  • Transparency: Transparency is key in our work to implement standards and enforcement regulations.  Everyone should be able to understand the reasons for and the consequences of nonconformances. 
  • Accountability: Each of our employees is held accountable for their interactions and observations while conducting business for the American Lumber Standard Committee.  Additional training and/or corrective actions help to ensure accountability.
  • Respect: We value and strive for mutual respect between ALSC employees and the agencies and subscribers that we work with.
