ALSC Foreign Lumber Policy The Foreign Lumber Policy of the ALSC sets forth the procedures to accept grademarked lumber produced in countries other than the United States. The acceptance of foreign lumber shall be under the same requirements, and subject to the same conditions as are applicable to agencies accredited to operate under the ALS system in the United States. An Adobe pdf version of the current policy is available here. Also provided in an Adobe pdf format is the current list of Foreign Lumber species approved by the Board of Review to date. This list indicates the supporting agency, country of origin, designated gradestamp nomenclature, items, grades and, if applicable, recommended spans.
